




1. request that your school's principal implement the JDF Kids Walk (letter of request in last
CWD newsletter) 2. act as the Coordinator of the Kids Walk in your child's school to motivate staff, parents
and students to help raise money for diabetes research and learn more about diabetes (volunteer
4 hours aprox.) 3. act as a Kids Walk Distruict Leader for your school area to help other families and
schools learn more about the Kids Walk and teach them how to better implement the program
(volunteer aprox. 1 hour week, for only 6 months) By making a decision to help with any of the above...you will be part of the team that will
one day soon be able to say "we helped find a cure for diabetes"!!!!!!

CDA Kids with Diabetes in School Resource Package
This resource package is for teachers, parents and families of kids with diabetes in school.
The goal of this program is to the safety and success of a student with diabetes at school.
The information in this package will help teachers understand diabetes and aid
communication between the student, the parents and the school. This resource package was
supported through grants from Health Canada and Imperial Oil's Esso Kids Program.

Did you know that your child’s school can host a JDF Kids Walk this spring?
The Kids Walk is an easy to implement educational fundraiser designed to increase diabetes
awareness and help raise more money for the cure for diabetes. Please ask your child’s principal
to implement the Kids Walk this Spring. A letter has been included for you to sign and give
to your principal. All fun, colourful display materials will be provided by JDF. When your
child’s school registers, your child’s name will be entered to win a knapsack, meter, Kids
