When a Child Has Diabetes
This well-written book is very concise, thorough and easy to understand. Included is a detailed explanation of how to draw up an insulin shot, advice on how to deal with children of all ages, basic information about complications and a brief discussion about the search for a cure are also included.

The Dinosaur Tamer
These stories contain examples of some of the challenges that adolescents and teens with diabetes face every day and how they manage to overcome these challenges and live life to the fullest.

Sugar Isn't Everything
Fear of insulin injections and anger at diagnosis of an adolescent girl. Amy is also concerned about the perceived stigma of wearing her medical ID bracelet, and distressed at not being able to eat her favorite foods. An excellent novel that deals with the emotional aspects of diabetes. Highly recommended for kids ages 9 to 15.
